"Come further in! Come further up!" — Aslan Because music is more than a commodity... |
With a vivid abstraction that borders on the mystical, music has the power to speak keenly into the human experience and—from the deepest joys to the darkest sadness to simply having fun—to tell a story that is "good beyond hope." We practice our craft in order to bring music to people and to share with them things that have been meaningful to us, in hopes of being agents of music's powerful ability to pierce hearts, transcend borders, and break down barriers. |
Old music in historical perspective
Our specialty is performing music of the 17th and 18th centuries, using historical instruments and performance practices to seek to bring this wonderful repertoire to life. We can't (and aren't trying to) be anyone but ourselves, living here and now; but if these historical resources can help us create something that is meaningful to us in the here-and-now, we hope the result can be meaningful to you as well.
